4

Approve Apple Health permissions

Follow the Apple Health prompts and allow the read and write permissions you want Fitbod to use.

5

Double-check permissions in Apple Health

Open Apple Health, tap your profile, then go to Privacy > Apps > Fitbod to confirm the enabled categories.

6

Finish and sync a workout

Complete a Fitbod workout and confirm the post-workout sync prompt so the session is written to Apple Health.

Workarounds & Tips

  • ๐Ÿ’กIf you use a smart scale or another health app, send those measurements into Apple Health first so Fitbod can read the approved body composition fields from there.
  • ๐Ÿ’กIf your goal is to attach heart rate to strength sessions, use Fitbod with Apple Watch instead of relying on phone-only logging.
  • ๐Ÿ’กIf you want workouts to appear in Apple Fitness, treat Apple Watch as required rather than optional.

Pros

  • โœ“Native iPhone integration with Apple Health
  • โœ“Completed workouts and active calories can flow into the Apple ecosystem
  • โœ“Approved Apple Health workout and body composition data can improve Fitbod recommendations
  • โœ“Apple Watch support can add heart rate data to synced workouts

Cons

  • โœ—This workflow is tied to iPhone and Apple Health
  • โœ—Workout export still depends on confirming the post-workout sync prompt
  • โœ—Apple Fitness visibility is separate from Apple Health sync and may require Apple Watch
  • โœ—Only compatible Apple Health workouts are useful to Fitbod on import

Troubleshooting

โš ๏ธ Fitbod workouts are not showing in Apple Health

Open Apple Health and confirm Fitbod still has write access for Workouts, Active Energy, and Heart Rate. Then log another Fitbod workout and make sure you accept the sync prompt at the end.

โš ๏ธ Body composition is not updating in Fitbod

Check Apple Health permissions for Body Fat Percentage, BMI, Lean Body Mass, Waist Circumference, Weight, and Height. Fitbod can only use data that already exists in Apple Health.

โš ๏ธ Apple Watch data is incomplete or the workout did not finalize cleanly

Open Fitbod on both the iPhone and Apple Watch before training, keep them within Bluetooth range, and finalize the workout on your iPhone while Fitbod stays open long enough to sync.
